Wound healing center welcomes clinical nurse manager

SARANAC LAKE - Registered Nurse Kerry Roth has joined the Adirondack Health Wound and Hyperbaric Treatment Center as clinical nurse manager.

Roth will be responsible for all clinical aspects of the center including providing continuity of care for patients, integrating new therapies into care and training new personnel, reviewing and reporting on patient outcomes and ensuring quality of care.

A Wilmington resident, Roth has extensive clinical experience in wound and ostomy care in acute and wound care settings.  She has served for five years as a wound and ostomy nurse at CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh.  She worked at the J.T. Mather Wound Care Center in Long Island for four years as a wound care nurse.  Prior to that, she was an assistant nurse manager for a multi-specialty facility serving autistic, mentally challenged and psychiatric populations.

The Wound and Hyperbaric Treatment Center, located on the campus of Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds and non-responsive conditions.  The center also offers hospital-based outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  The center is tentatively scheduled to open in late February.

Roth earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from St. Lawrence University in 1993, and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Adelphi University in 1998. She earned her Certified Wound Care Nurse certification in 2009.  Roth is also a Certified Interfaith Community Nurse, and trained in the complementary therapies of Reiki and Healing Touch.
