Snowmobilers Donate Teddy Bears to AMC ER

February 12th, 2008

SARANAC LAKE - Thanks to the generosity of the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers, Inc., a visit to the Adirondack Medical Center Emergency Room will be a little more "bear-able."
The snowmobile club donated 50 brown stuffed Teddy Bears to the AMC ER to give out to children to relieve some of the stress associated with a visit to the hospital.
Amy Durkee, a CT Technologist in the Medical Imaging Department at AMC, is also the secretary for the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers Club. Amy said the club donated the bears to the ER as a way of giving back to the community. She said the club also made donations to North Country Life Flight and the Saranac Lake Fire Department.
This is the first year the 350-member club has made donations such as this.

CAPTION:
Accepting the stuffed Teddy Bear donation are Betsy Fuller, Emergency Room RN; Jillian Ellis, New Vision student; Mary O'Connor, Emergency Room RN; and Amy Durkee, CT Technologist and Secretary of the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers, Inc.
