Snowmobile Club Donates Teddy Bears to AMC ER

February 24th, 2010

SARANAC LAKE - A visit to the Adirondack Medical Center Emergency Room will be a bit more "bear-able" for children thanks to a generous donation from the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers Inc.

The snowmobile club donated a number of brown, stuffed Teddy Bears to the AMC ER for children hoping to relieve some of the anxiety associated with a visit to the hospital.

Amy Durkee, a CT Technologist in the Medical Imaging Department at AMC, is also the secretary of the Tri-Lakes Snowmobilers club, and noted the club donated the bears to the ER as a way of giving back to the community. She said the club also made donations to North Country Life Flight.  The donations are derived from membership dues for club members.

This is the third year the 350-member club has made the donation to AMC and North Country Life Flight.
