Lillian Hoy Earns ABCD Award at AMC-Mercy

April 23rd, 2009

SARANAC LAKE – Lillian Hoy, who is a Certified Nurse Assistant at AMC-Mercy in Tupper Lake, was named an ABCD recipient for Adirondack Medical Center.
The program, known as ABCD, stands for “Above & Beyond the Call of Duty.”
The ABCD Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC.
In a certificate of appreciation, it was pointed out that Lillian is an exceptional C.N.A at AMC-Mercy.  She comes in on her days off to help out, and she is always willing to change shifts when asked to do so.  She helps out with dietary, and she arrives to work early all of the time.  She goes out of her way to help residents in need.  For example, she will buy items for residents if they need them or do not have the money.  She is a team player and always strives to do her job well.  Lillian is a great example of someone who makes the workplace a better place.  In a demonstration of her dedication, Lillian came in on her Thanksgiving holiday to work because the staff was short-handed.  As a mentor to new employees, and through her compassion, Lillian is a great example of someone going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.
In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Lillian was given a $50 gift certificate. Adirondack Medical Center will announce ABCD winners on a regular basis.
