Kathy Strack Earns ABCD Award at AMC-Uihlein

    SARANAC LAKE – Kathy Strack, who is the MDS Coordinator at AMC-Uihlein in Lake Placid, was named an ABCD recipient for Adirondack Medical Center.
    The program, known as ABCD, stands for “Above & Beyond the Call of Duty.”
    The ABCD Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC.
    In a certificate of appreciation, it was pointed out that Kathy goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis.  Due to the loss of an employee for extended medical leave, Kathy has taken on staff development duties at AMC-Uihlein without question.  This is in addition to her own duties as the MDS Coordinator.  Whenever a nurse manager departs from the facility, whether temporarily or permanently, Kathy is there to step up and take on those additional responsibilities.  Whenever there is a nursing turn-over or absence, Kathy is the first to take up the slack – Strack is not a slack!  She does all of this with a smile on her face and cheery disposition.  You wouldn’t think she has the time, but Kathy also spearheads fundraising for charitable organizations at AMC-Uihlein. Kathy is an essential player in the daily routine of the facility and consistently goes Above and Beyond the Call of Duty.
    In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Kathy was given a $50 gift certificate. Adirondack Medical Center will announce ABCD winners on a regular basis.
