Important Forum on Long-Term Care Options

May 12th, 2008

    SARANAC LAKE – The NYS Department of Health/NYS Partnership for Long-Term Care will be offering a FREE public education seminar on Long Term Care options at the Harrietstown Town Hall on Main Street in Saranac Lake.  This event is co-sponsored by Adirondack Medical Center and Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
    This important educational session is taking place at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 in the Auditorium of the Harrietstown Town Hall.
    The seminar focuses on long-term care options for New York State residents: how to be ready when the time comes, how to protect your assets and still get the care you need, how to make sure you have the right kind of coverage and the right amount.
    There is no cost for attendance and no product solicitation of any kind, just useful information.  Whether you have family approaching possible long term care age or you want to protect your own independence in the future, this is the seminar for you.
Among the points that will be covered:

* Introduction to the NYS Partnership
* What is Long-Term Care?
* Where can Long-Term Care be provided?
* Statistical risks of needing Long-Term Care
* Medicaid Extended Coverage Eligibility Process
* Partnership Long-Term Care Insurance Benefits
* Shared responsibility
    Please call (518) 891-1990 or (518) 897-2341 to register, as seating is limited.  The event is open to the public, free of charge, and is expected to last about one hour.  Handouts will be made available at the session, so it is important for participants to RSVP.
