Eric Holmes Earns ABCD Award at AMC

    SARANAC LAKE – Eric Holmes, who supervises the Tupper Lake Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Department for AMC, was named an ABCD recipient for the month of March.
    The program, known as ABCD, stands for “Above & Beyond the Call of Duty.”
    The Above & Beyond the Call of Duty Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care that is outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC.
    According to Rick Preston, Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine Director for AMC, Eric is very deserving of the award.
    “Since volunteering for, and given the responsibility as Supervisor of the Tupper Lake Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Department, Eric has taken the approach that this was ‘his Department’ and would operate it as if it were his own,” Preston noted, “Who else, where else would the supervisor change ceiling tiles, shovel, salt, sand sidewalks and the parking lot, perform as a plumber, janitor and housekeeper, all while providing optimal patient care.”
    To quote a staff member, “Eric is more than a team player, he is a team leader.”  Patient care is number one with Eric who often arrives early, stays late, and changes his day off with the best interest of the patient in mind.  Eric performs his non-Physical Therapy duties and those of a supervisor, all while carrying a full patient caseload, always exceeding expectations.  
    In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Eric was given a $50 gift certificate. Adirondack Medical Center will announce ABCD winners on a monthly basis.
