Dr. Gardner departing Tupper Lake Health Center

October 4th, 2006

SARANAC LAKE -  Dr. Lilly Gardner's expertise and experience at the Tupper Lake Health Center will be sorely missed by residents when she departs from the community in mid-December.
While her departure will leave a noticeable void in the Adirondack Medical Center family, the ongoing search for her eventual replacement will not impede or delay plans to expand and renovate the Tupper Lake Health Center.
"I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Tupper Lake community, which has lead to my rejuvenated interest in family practice," Dr. Gardner said, "I would also like to thank Tupper Lake for welcoming me into the community so quickly."
Dr. Gardner, who is board certified in family practice with interests in urgent and primary care, will be relocating to Maine in mid-December with her husband where he has accepted new employment.
"I was looking forward to the anticipated renovations at the health center and I was quite excited about the upcoming changes," said Dr. Gardner, "I am saddened I won't be a part of those changes to build upon AMC's commitment to optimizing health care in the community."
AMC is currently in the process of recruiting a new physician to join Dr. Steve Heintz and the staff of Tupper Lake Health Center.
Prior to joining the health center in July 2005, Dr. Gardner worked in a private Family Practice Clinic and the "Fast Track" of the Baptist Hospital Emergency Department in Jacksonville, Fla. Her experience included a position as Medical Director of Eastport Healthcare in Maine and as an Emergency Room physician in Maine, New York, Alabama, and Massachusetts. Her primary focus has been family practice in the more rural areas of New York, Massachusetts and Maine.
The renovation of the Tupper Lake Health Center is part of a broader $5.6 million project to purchase and renovate Mercy Healthcare Center in Tupper Lake and Uihlein Mercy Center in Lake Placid.
