SARANAC LAKE - On October 24, 2009 at the 70th Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in Austin Texas, Dr. David G. The American Academy of PM&R is the national organization of over 7,000 physicians who specialize in the practice of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation also known as Physiatrists.  Physiatrists work with patients who have suffered a disabling condition that limits their mobility or their ability to carry out activities of daily living, or who deal with problems of chronic pain.  Through a team approach and focusing on the physical restoration of function, physiatrists try to return individuals to the maximum function possible within the limits of their medical status.
