Bill Marinis Earns ABCD Award at AMC for Month of June

    SARANAC LAKE – Bill Marinis, who is a Physician Assistant for Adirondack Medical Center in Saranac Lake, was named an ABCD recipient for the month of June.
    The program, known as ABCD, stands for “Above & Beyond the Call of Duty.”
    The ABCD Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care that is outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC.
     In a certificate of appreciation, it was noted that having worked with Dr. David Thomashow for a number of years, Bill was among the many who mourned his passing.  As many tried to make sense of this untimely loss, Bill quickly stepped in to care for the patients dependent on dialysis treatment.  The dialysis unit needed someone who knew the patients, staff and routine.  Bill was just that person.  He took on the role without question or hesitation, and was available for the staff and patients at all times in addition to shuffling his ER and office schedules.  Throughout the entire ordeal, Bill has maintained a positive and friendly attitude that has helped others cope with an enormous loss.  Bill’s strength, compassion, and devotion are shining examples of someone going well above and beyond the call of duty.
      In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Bill was given a $50 gift certificate. Adirondack Medical Center will announce ABCD winners on a monthly basis.
