Adirondack Health welcomes new Chief Financial Officer

SARANAC LAKE - Adirondack Health is proud to welcome a seasoned professional to serve as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Greg Moore began work as a member of Adirondack Health's executive leadership team recently, and has settled into the community with his wife and two children.  His most recent position was as interim Chief Executive Officer at Pioneers Memorial Hospital in California.

Greg has 17 years of progressive responsibility in administration and finance for both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations.  He values the leadership perspectives he has gained during his separate experiences as a CEO and CFO.

"I believe I was a far more effective CEO because of my experiences as a CFO and vice-versa," Moore said.  "It's not always about the bottom line - you have to look carefully at what the community needs are, and you also have a responsibility to provide quality care."

The decision for Greg to accept the CFO position was based on the progressive philosophy of Adirondack Health, and to be a part of an organization that has implemented new ways of improving healthcare for the community.  He pointed to Adirondack Health's involvement in the Medical Home project that focuses on the patient centered approach of delivering care.  Greg also cited the specialty physician practices such as Wound Care, Rheumatology and Cardiology provided by Adirondack Health, and future plans to provide a broader range of elder care services at the Uihlein campus in Lake Placid.

From a personal standpoint, Greg and his wife Tracy, who is a Certified Public Accountant, see the community as a great place to raise their two children, who recently started middle school and high school.  He grew up in a small town in Kentucky, and he and his wife appreciate the unique advantages of raising their children in a rural setting.

"As a parent you have a comfort level that you may not get in a larger community," Greg said. "We love it here."

Greg, a Certified Public Accountant, received his Bachelor's of Business degree from the University of Kentucky, and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana.
