AMC Welcomes Dr. Jennifer S. Weibel

SARANAC LAKE - Adirondack Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of Jennifer S. Weibel, D.O., to its active Medical Staff.

Dr. Weibel will be providing Primary Care at AMC's Community Health Centers in Lake Placid and Tupper Lake beginning September 21. 

Most recently, Dr. Weibel was affiliated with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Michigan where she completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine, in which she is board certified.  She is also Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians.

Dr. Weibel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona in 1997.  In 2005, she earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, Midwestern University, in Downers Grove, Ill.  Dr. Weibel completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley Department of Family Medicine in 2008.

Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine are fully trained physicians, and licensed to practice all phases of medicine. In addition, they are specially trained to perform osteopathic manipulation treatment (OMT), a technique in which osteopathic physicians use their hands to diagnose and treat patients, giving particular attention to bones, joints, muscles, and nerves. The result is improved blood flow which enables the body to heal itself.

In addition to SCUBA diving, and sailing, Dr. Weibel enjoys road cycling, Nordic skiing and photography.
