AMC Welcomes Dr. Allen Knowles to Tupper Lake

    Adirondack Medical Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Allen Lee Knowles III will be serving as a primary care physician at the Tupper Lake Health Center and AMC~ Mercy.
    Dr. Knowles has contracted with Adirondack Medical Center to provide medical services to the two Tupper Lake facilities from November 15, 2007 through May 15, 2008 and has expressed interest in returning on an annual basis.
    Board certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Knowles graduated from the University of New Orleans with a B.S. in Biology, Summa cum Laude in 1977. He later attended the LSUMC School of Medicine in Shreveport, LA., graduating in 1981. Dr. Knowles then completed a three-year family practice residency at the United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, West Virginia. 
    He has worked in a solo private practice, as a partner in a family practice with the University Primary Care division of SUNY Buffalo Dept. of Family Medicine, and as a full-time staff physician in the Olean General Hospital emergency department later returning to family practice.
    Dr. Knowles is married and has five grown children. He and his wife Lynne will reside in Tupper Lake for the duration of his contract.  Some of their hobbies include reading, bicycling, hiking, gardening, cooking, and playing the piano.
