AMC Recognized for Efforts on Uninsured Task Force

September 17th, 2006

SARANAC LAKE - At a recent award ceremony, the Healthcare Trustees of New York State (HTNYS) presented its Health Care Innovations Award-A Better Way-to Adirondack Medical Center for its Tri-Lakes Uninsured Task Force.

The Tri-Lakes Uninsured Task Force represents more than 25 local, regional, and statewide organizations and agencies that have come together to address the issue of the uninsured in the region served by Adirondack Medical Center. With a key goal of reducing the number of uninsured in the area, the Task Force has helped roll out a number of initiatives that have led to a measurable reduction in the uninsured population.

The award was presented at the 26th Annual HTNYS Membership Conference, held September 8-10 at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing. Nearly 600 hospital trustees, leaders, guests, speakers, and sponsors gathered at the Conference for education sessions on advocacy, health care reform, physician relations, governance, and accountability.
