AMC Raises New American Flag

November 8th, 2006

SARANAC LAKE - With the men and women of our nation's Armed Forces serving in locations in the far reaches of the globe, it is important to reflect on their service as we celebrate Veteran's Day on November 11th.
This week, a brand new American Flag was raised at the Saranac Lake campus of Adirondack Medical Center. In addition, a second American Flag has been purchased and the two will be rotated on a regular basis so at all times the Stars and Stripes will wave in a condition that is respectful of our nation's tradition. All flags will be retired in accordance with the proper flag retirement ceremony.
After all, it is our citizen soldiers in conflicts past and present who have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect the freedom embodied in the Red, White, and Blue.

CAPTION:
Hoisting a new American Flag at AMC this week were Ken Boyle and Mike Nelson, both Plant Operations employees. Ken served his nation in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965, and Mike served in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1973.
