AMC Goes Red for Women

February 5th, 2009

SARANAC LAKE – The staff of Adirondack Medical Center showed their support in the fight against heart disease by raising over $500 for Go Red For Women.  Employees who made a $5.00 contribution to the American Heart Association got to wear red and blue jeans to work on February 6th.   Across the country, Feb. 6 is recognized as Wear Red Day, and by doing so, shows solidarity in the fight against heart disease – the number one killer of women in America.  The funds raised are used for vital research and educational programs.  Go Red For Women urges all women to love their hearts on Wear Red Day and every day of the year by taking charge of their health and lowering their risk factors for heart disease.
