Visitor Services
Visiting Hours
To allow
flexibility for family members and significant others to visit and
provide support and comfort during a patient's stay, AMC has
implemented:
Patient Visiting Hours - 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week.
Visiting
hours from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. are at the discretion of the Nursing
Administrative Supervisor (except on the Obstetrical Unit).
To respect your fellow patients, please ask your family and visitors to follow these simple rules:
-
Normally, patient visitations will be limited to two (2) people at
any one time. The maximum number of visitors per patient is four (4).
-
Visitors experiencing fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, skin
rash, vomiting or diarrhea in the last 48 hours are discouraged from
visiting.
-
Visitors who are disturbing to patients, staff or other visitors
will be asked to stop their behavior or be escorted from the hospital's
premises.
-
Visitors must be respectful of AMC's No Smoking Policy and smoke in designated areas only.
-
Visitors should make their own provisions for meals and lodging, if necessary.
-
If the patient's door is closed, knock before entering.
-
Check with the nurse before serving any food treats. Some tests or procedures require a special diet.
-
If you are visiting a patient in isolation, ask at the nursing station if gowns, gloves and masks are needed.
-
Avoid touching dressings and open sores.
-
Remember that a patient's condition might not permit a long visit.
-
If your friend or family member has a roommate, please keep in mind his or her needs for quiet and rest.
There are some places in the hospital where the visiting hours are restricted. Please ask your nurse if you have any questions.

Medical Center is a smoke-free facility. Smoking by patients, visitors
