The Centennial Gala held on July 9th raised over $114,000 to assist in the cost of renovating the Stafford new Life Center's obstetrical unit to create a surgical suite for ceasarian deliveries. Honorary Chairs Jane Pauley and Garry Trudeau welcomed 389 guests who gathered to honor the memory of Garry's father, Dr. Francis B. Trudeau Jr., and to celebrate the first 100 years of Adirondack Medical Center providing health care to the Tri-Lakes community. Adirondack Medical Center is a member of Adirondack Health.

The Trudeau Institute hosted the event on the institute's beautiful grounds. The evening was a smashing success thanks to a huge number of Gala committee members who volunteered hundreds of hours to create a celebration to remember. The festivities were opened with a warm welcome from Thomas B. Leonardi, Chair of the AMC Foundation Board of Trustees. Joe Conto, volunteer auctioneer, auctioned several exclusive items highlighted by a wine dinner donated by Claire and Tom Leonardi and Terry and Lynn Birdsong, which raised $12,000. Following dinner, five special friends and relatives provided moving tributes to the memory of Dr. Trudeau. Adirondack Health President and CEO Chandler Ralph spoke of AMC's rich history and the challenges the organization is preparing to meet in the coming months and years.

The Silent Auction exceeded its previous record with more than 50 items contributed by wonderful friends, businesses and artisans. The evening culminated with a fireworks display orchestrated by Peter Henry, who is a pharmacist at AMC. Guests closed out the evening with a dessert buffet and dancing to the high energy sounds of the Pop Show Band.
