Cardiac Rehabilitation

This Program is for patients that have experienced the following: a heart attack, heart surgery, heart angioplasty or stent placement, heart disease, a heart transplant, or heart failure.

UNDERSTAND your condition better, enhance the quality of your life, improve your heart's health, get back to work quickly, and decrease the chances of heart complications. These are just a few things our program is designed to do for you.

JOIN the program with a physician's referral. You may also have to have some tests before you start. Call our office for help getting a referral. Participants meet 2-3 times a week for about an hour.

EXERCISE is at the heart of our program and includes riding stationary bikes, walking on a treadmill or using an arm bike, and muscle strengthening exercises. All exercise is done under the close supervision of our Cardiac Rehab team, with the latest in state of the art equipment.

EDUCATION sessions are offered to you and your family, covering topics such as Angina, Medication, Stress Management, Depression, Yoga, Dietary Management, The Benefits of Exercise, and Risk Factors for Heart Disease.

COST of the program is usually covered by insurance. If you do not have insurance, or it doesn't cover the program, we will help you by making it more affordable.

CALL the Cardiac Rehabilitation Office at 518-523-8370 or e-mail us at cardiacrh@amcCares.org for more information about the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
